screencap of Akihiko's blog

Just in case you didn’t know, Akihiko has his own blog. Had it since early last year. Just putting it here for anyone who’s interested in our in-house otaku’s ramblings.

My Figure Collection

Screenshot of my site profile

I spent the better part of my weekend either filling up my online books database or my figure/toy database. My Figure Collection— also known as Tsuki-Board.net— is an online collaborative database for Japanese toys, figures and other collectibles. (The last part may be debatable as some toylines are not allowed, but I’m still new there and I can’t seem to find the link to the rules.)

It’s pretty handy really, search by toy line, character, or anime series and you can add which of the results you already own, ordered or wish to have. It’s sad that they don’t offer RSS feeds for your collection, but it serves my purpose of cataloguing all my Japanese toys.

It’s also neat that you can get random trivia about your collection, for example:

Did you know? 6.88 meters is the height of all Kyam-kyam’s figures piled up.

Anyway, if you wanna see my whole collection, you can view my profile there.

My New Office Desk Buddies

Edward and Alphonse lounging about

I had a great find while out waiting for a movie with my husband: Ed and Al, chibified! Aren’t they cute? They are from the manga/ anime series Hagane no Renkinjutsushi a.k.a. Fullmetal Alchemist— One of my favorite series in recent history. And here they are little cute figures!

They remind me of the articulated and more expensive Nendoroid Petits, or even the regular sized Nendoroid figures. Actually, if you didn’t know better, you’d actually think they’re from the same manufacturer. And so far, they haven’t released one for FMA yet so Banpresto gets my money this time. Besides, Good Smile Company has already drained my money for making purchase their Figmas.

I sincerely apologize for suddenly turning into mush, but I can’t help it if they’re cute! I don’t think you can disagree on that one.

Here they are lounging about in half of the Japanese Room Nendoroid playset at the corner of my desk. I unfortunately only got half the set.

Edward and Alphonse Elric are from the Fullmetal Alchemist set of Deformation Mania Collection by Banpresto.
